3.5 months old

Baby Emmet is now 3 and a half months. He smiles, giggles, makes cute baby noises, lifts his head up during tummy time, sleeps longer hours, and is very alert if he's not sleeping. He does sleep A LOT and anywhere he can. He must get it from mama. I always had the gift of falling asleep in inappropriate places like lecture halls.

He had his 4 month pediatrician visit today and he's very healthy. He now weighs 15 lbs (75 percentile of his age) and is 26 inches tall (90 percentile of his age). The percentiles are exactly the same as the 2 month visit so he is consistently very tall and big in general. If he keeps this up, he's gonna be wearing toddler clothes soon! He's already just right in 6 month old clothes.

I plan to do monthly posts from now on to blog his development. I was a bit late getting this one up but hope to keep it up! Not sure if I still have any readers out there left but thanks for checking this time to time =) It will be fun to see these posts with him when he is older. This helps keep me organized.

2 month old

Baby Emmet is nearly 2 months old! Time flew by quickly and it's been a while since I last posted. We have our 2 month check up on Thursday and he's getting some of his shots then. I think the controversial vaccines are later on so I'm having him get all the shots this time (I'll probably have him get them all anyway... maybe change the timing slightly perhaps).

Anyway, he's getting so big. I'm curious what percentile he's at in his age. He's almost 15 lbs now. That's almost twice his birth weight. Am I feeding him too much? Not like its a choice. If I don't feed him, he will definitely give me a hard time. He's slightly pudge (well... His tummy and thighs are quite pudge) but I think he's a really tall boy. He's already snug in his bassinet and kicks the sides of it.

UPDATE: Just came back from the pediatrician visit. Turns out he's 12lb 12oz. Phew! Not as big as I thought. For weight, he's 70 percentile for his age. But for height, he's 90 percentile at 24 inches. Emmet might be a really tall boy... Maybe basketball rather than baseball? Sorry daddy.

Bath Time

Here's a little video of baby Emmet taking a bath yesterday. My mom is slightly obsessed with giving him a bath whenever he comes over. Don't get me wrong, I'm very appreciative. I'm scared to give him a bath by myself. He looks really slippery and I don't want to drop him.
She is very thorough with the cleaning. You'll see when you see the video. lol.

Family visit

Emmet had a lot of family visit him this past week. Grandma and grandpa Brown, Uncle Cormac, and his gf Jen. He really liked spending time with family. He was so alert and even smiling at times.

The navy blue stripe outfit is from Kirsten, Peter's sister. Unfortunately, she couldn't come this time but we hope she will come visit us soon!

Photo shoot

Emmet had his first photo shoot last Friday. He was such a good boy after I fed him a ton. We took the photos in our attic where it's the warmest so we could keep him in just a diaper. I got the newborn photo props Etsy. I found the photographer on Craigslist. She was aiming to build up her portfolio so the photo shoot was only $120. I love what she did and Emmet was a great model.

Hiccups

I get hiccups all the time. I also like to kick my legs vigorously. That's mommy pumping her breastmilk in the background.

My French Onesies

New gift from Naga yesterday. Thanks Naga. It fits him perfectly right now!!
I need to try on all the cute newborn clothes he received. He is growing up sooo fast.

He soiled the stripe one immediately after I put it on him so I had to switch him into the blue onesies.
